Gundam vs. Zaku “Mobile Suit Gundam: The Island of Cruz Doan” special trailer featuring powerful mecha action

Special Report to be Released on March 9, "Zaku Day!

A special trailer for the animated film "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Island of Cruz Doan" has been released. The video was released during the "Zaku Day" special press conference held on March 9. Director Yoshikazu Yasuhiko and main cast members Toru Furuya and Shunsuke Takeuchi attended the press conference.

The film is directed by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, who served as animation director for "Mobile Suit Gundam" broadcast in 1979, and is a new adaptation of episode 15 "The Island of Cruz Doan," known as a unique episode of the same series. The original story, "The Island of Crucius Doan," is about a boy, Amuro Ray, who gets caught up in the war and is forced to become the pilot of the Earth Federation Forces' new mobile suit "RX-78-02 Gundam," and a deserter from the Zeon army who lives on an isolated island while raising war-ravaged orphans. The sadness of war is depicted through the interaction of Cruz Doan.

The special feature film opens with a scene in which the RX-78-02 Gundam, with Amuro (CV: Furuya) on board, lands on an isolated island. On the island, they encounter a Zaku, and aboard it is Cruz Doan (Takeuchi), a man who is said to be as strong as Char, the Red Comet. Furthermore, Amuro, who lost his Gundam in the battle, is faced with the question, "Can he uncover the secret of the island and escape safely? The White Base crew, including Bright, Kai, Seira, and Sleggar, also make an appearance.

The second half of the special video features intense "MS action" and depicts a one-on-one battle between a Gundam and a Zaku. It also shows Doan's line, "I don't want to fight you," and his determination, "If we don't end this ......," foreshadowing the connection between Doan and the "secret of the island.

Mobile Suit Gundam: The Island of Cruz Doan" opens in theaters nationwide on June 3.
