Disney's live-action film version of "Pinocchio," featuring the classic song "When You Wish Upon a Star," and a key visual, will be unveiled on September 8. It was also announced that the film will be available on Disney Plus on September 8.
Disney has created a number of masterpieces, including "Dreams in Secret" from "Cinderella (2015)," "Beauty and the Beast" from "Beauty and the Beast," "Circle of Life" from "The Lion King," and "Whole New World" from "Aladdin. Disney has made numerous masterpieces into live-action films with stunning visual beauty and famous songs.
The new live-action film project "Pinocchio" will be directed by Robert Zemeckis, the master director of the "Back to the Future" series. Tom Hanks ("Forrest Gump: Once in a Lifetime") embodies Zeppetto, who makes the wooden doll Pinocchio; Cynthia Erivo ("Harriet") is Blue Fairy, the fairy who gives Pinocchio life; and Luke Evans ("Beauty and the Beast") is the coachman who tricks the children. Joseph Gordon-Levitt ("Inception") voiced the drifter Cricket, Jiminy Cricket, and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth ("The Hornets of Brymanor") voiced Pinocchio.
Zepetto, an eccentric old man living alone, named his handmade doll Pinocchio and wished upon a star that one day it would come to life. One night, Zepetto's wish is granted and the Blue Fairy brings Pinocchio to life. Zepetto loves Pinocchio as if he were his own son, and Pinocchio himself wishes to be a real child someday. Pinocchio, innocent and clueless, meets his friends and embarks on an adventure, while being tempted and challenged by temptations and trials.
The special featurette, which is softly accompanied by the famous song "When You Wish Upon a Star," unveils Zephyr, who wishes single-mindedly toward the stars; the glowing Blue Fairy, who waves her magic wand; and Jiminy Cricket, who watches over Pinocchio's journey. Pinocchio, who has come to life, is not yet clearly shown, and expectations are high for further news. The key visual shows a silhouette of Pinocchio walking happily.
The live-action "Pinocchio" will be available exclusively on Disney Plus from September 8.
