Sato plays the lead role of Ichibanboshi, who was chosen as a double for Isamu Kondo, the head of the Shinsengumi. His family was killed by a zokumen demon when he was a child, and he becomes the center of the doubles as they pursue their revenge. Toki will play the role of Sakuya, a cool former assassin who is the double of Deputy Chief Hijikata Toshizo; Toyonaga will play the role of Toudou Heisuke, the sole survivor of the Shinsengumi and a stickler for the ideals of the group; and Uesaka will play Akira, the double of Okita Soji, a hardworking man of both letters and military skills.
