Production I.G, known for its "Ghost in the Shell" series, will produce an animated feature film to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the children's book series "Rakudai Witch" (published by Poplar Publishing). The release date has been set for spring 2023, and a teaser visual has been unveiled. The original story "Rakudai Witch" by Satoko Narita (author) and Enaga Chino (illustrator) is a popular series that has sold over 1.6 million copies in total. (Grand Prize winner) and is currently in its 18th volume. Set in a magical land where wizards live, the story follows Fuuka, a princess who is a goofball and constantly makes mistakes, as she goes on great adventures with her friends at a magic school as an apprentice witch and experiences her first love. The animated feature film version is directed by Takayuki Hamana, director of "The Seven Deadly Sins: The Movie," with a script by "Card Fight! Vanguard G" series, and character design by Marumi Sugita of "Koisuru Asteroids" (chief animation director). The teaser visual is an illustration depicting Fuuka, astride a broomstick on which a butterfly perches, running through the sky with a big smile on her face.
