The latest special trailer for "Shin Ultraman," planned and written by Hideaki Anno and directed by Shinji Higuchi, has just been unveiled. In addition to the premiere of the theme song "M Hachijunana" (M Hachijunana), newly written by Genshi Yonezu, new facts have also been revealed.

Since its first broadcast in 1966, "Ultraman" has been aired in more than 100 regions overseas, and remains one of Japan's most popular characters. Shin Ultraman" commemorates the 55th anniversary of Ultraman, and features a cast of splendid actors including Takumi Saito (Shinji Kaminaga), Masami Nagasawa (Hiroko Asami), Hidetoshi Nishijima (Kimio Tamura), Hiroki Arioka (Akihisa Taki) and Akari Hayami (Yumi Funami).

The special report begins with a scene in which Asami, an analyst belonging to the "Katokutai," an organization established by the Disaster Prevention Agency to deal with disasters caused by giant unknown creatures, says, "That's Ultraman. The characters' lines also reveal that for some reason, the "Kaiju" only appear in Japan.

Tamura, the leader of the "Disaster Special Team," says to Ultraman, "I felt intelligence in the Titan's behavior that was different from that of the Kaiju. A proposal for a plan to eliminate Ultraman, a character reminiscent of the evil alien Zarabu, and a scene in which a mysterious character played by Koji Yamamoto presents a shocking business card. Written on it is "Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Outer Alien 0, Mephilus. The mysterious figure asks, "Would you like to work with me for the good of this planet?" He throws out the words, "Why don't you work with me for this planet? Eventually, he asks, "Are you an alien? Or are you human?" Ultraman breaks through the building and appears.

An 82-second trailer has been showing in movie theaters nationwide since April 15, and will also be shown at the Hideaki Anno exhibition at the Abeno Harukas Museum of Art in Osaka from April 16.

Shin Ultraman" will be released in theaters nationwide on May 13.
