Shin Ultraman” Takes Off to the World, to be Exhibited at Film Festivals Abroad

Shin Ultraman" (in theaters now), a film depicting the new birth and battle of a national tokusatsu hero, will be screened at overseas film festivals.

The film is planned and written by Hideaki Anno, who himself professes to be a fan of the Ultraman series. The film opened in 401 theaters nationwide (including 39 IMAX theaters) on May 13, and drew 2.42 million viewers and grossed over 3.6 billion yen in the 33 days from the opening day to June 14.

Shin Ultraman" is finally set to take off around the world. The film will be exhibited at the "Neuchatel International Fantastic Film Festival" in Neuchatel, Switzerland from July 1, the "Fantasia International Film Festival" in Montreal, Canada from July 14, and the "New York Asian Film Festival (NFF)" in New York City, USA from July 15. Asian Film Festival (NYAFF), which will be held in New York, U.S.A. from July 15.
