Fruits Basket prelude

Two types of postcards depicting Toru Honda, Kyoko & Katsuya will be distributed as the third admission bonus for "Fruits Basket prelude" starting March 11 (total of two types, distributed at random, one per viewing). The postcard for the third admission bonus is a new drawing by character designer Masaru Shindo, following the first postcard featuring Yuki and Rin. The postcard depicting Toru has a cute design with Yuki in her "child" form and夾 in her "cat" form.

The postcard featuring Kyoko and Katsuya, on the other hand, depicts a young Kyoko with an embarrassed expression on her face, and Katsuya cuddling up to her. In the original manga "Fruits Basket," which was serialized in "Hana to Yume" (Hakusensha) from 1998 to 2006, a girl named Toru, who has become a stranger in her own home, is possessed by the "Twelve Mononokai of the Zodiac" who turn into animals when they are hugged by the opposite sex. The story is about the confrontation.
This is the second time the series has been animated. "1st season" was broadcast from April to September 2007, "2nd season" from April to September 2008, and "The Final" from April to June 2009.

This "Fruits Basket prelude" is an OVA that adds new footage to the compilation of the TV anime "Fruits Basket," including the episode about Toru's parents, "The Story of Kyoko and Katsuya," which is being visualized for the first time, and "The Story of Toru and Ryo" newly drawn by the original author, Natsuki Takaya. The film grossed 130,374,980 yen at the box office and drew 74,985 viewers (total period: February 18 to March 7; 48 theaters as of March 7).
